There are a lot of misconceptions when it comes to CBD Oil. What CBD is NOT: It’s not marijuana. It’s not THC (the part of cannabis responsible for causing a “high”) and it’s nonpsychoactive. CBD oil is NOT Hemp oil either. CBD oil is generally used for medicinal purposes. Hemp oil is derived from the hemp seed and is generally used as a protein supplement for food and because of its remedial properties for hair and skin, as an ingredient in the lotion and soap products.
CBD stands for Cannabidiol, one of more than 85 different cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. It is found in hemp (legal in all 50 states) and marijuana (legal use varies by state).
Cannabinoids are the primary chemical compounds found in all cannabis plants. The 2 most known cannabinoids are CBD and THC. CBD is the best known non-psychoactive cannabinoid, and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the only psychoactive cannabinoid.
Single-molecule CBD “isolate” is less effective therapeutically than hemp flower CBD extract. Many scientific studies have established that single-molecule CBD “isolate” has a very narrow window of efficacy. Single-molecule CBD lacks critical secondary cannabinoids and other medicinal compounds found in high CBD hemp strains. These compounds interact with CBD and THC to enhance their benefits also called the “entourage effect.”
CBD works with the body through the endocannabinoid system (ECS). The ECS regulates the body’s normal homeostasis, or general state of balance.
To create a quality, clean, & pure oil that is safe to produce with little post processing, unlike other toxic solvents (hexane, butane, etc.) that requires several hours to purge the toxic solvent trapped in the oil. Many different industries have proven that the most efficient commercial processing utilizes Co2. Co2 is efficient and a “tunable” solvent. Co2 is also a cleaning agent which prolongs shelf life of our oils. Our extractions offer minimal extraction times, higher yields, through mechanical innovation. You are breathing out Co2 right now. Evaporated Co2 leaves you with virtually no residual solvent. We identify what we want to extract from the botanical material in a system that optimizes oil quality, speed and product development opportunities.
Scientifically, they are the same plants. The difference is Industrial Hemp produces 0.3% or less THC and marijuana produces THC levels above 0.3%
Many people assume that hemp doesn’t produce THC. This is simply not true. Some varieties of Industrial Hemp, especially the varieties designed to produce CBD produce trace amount of THC. It can only be classified as hemp if the plant produces 0.3% or less THC. THC is the only cannabinoid that is tested for, so CBD itself should not show up in a regular THC drug test. One thing to know even though our CBD is derived from Industrial Hemp the extract could contain very low amounts of THC (less than 0.3%). This means using CBD oil can theoretically make you show positive on a THC drug test. Green Remedy produces Full Spectrum Hemp Extract products which are derived from Industrial hemp and contain every cannabinoid that our hemp plants produce as well as the terpenes in the plant. All products are tested to ensure they contain 0.3% or less THC. **Using any cannabis product, there is always a chance of showing positive on a drug test. We recommend that you talked to your employer or health care provider if this is a concern.
